My wife’s Grandma Shura lived till ninety-three. For as long as I knew her, she would jokingly insist she was eighteen. It was obvious she felt eighteen as well—she had an upbeat spirit and was fun to be around, especially when sprinkling her lively chatter with the not-so-decent Soviet jokes and colorful personal anecdotes.
