Éowyn dealt a mortal wound to the Witch-king of Angmar in fulfillment of the prophecy of Glorfindel who said at the Battle of Fornost,

“Do not pursue him, he will not return to this land. Far off yet is his doom, and not by the hand of man will he fall.”

By the irony of fate, the Witch-king’s mortal wound was dealt by someone deeply wounded.…
