When we think about ethics or what it means to be ethical, we often think about rules and codes. And it is understandable. The ancient Greeks used the word “ethics” to refer to the moral principles or customs of a particular community (ethnos). Moreover, each ethnos had its own distinctive ethos—its character or guiding values.
