The names of Boromir and Faramir sound very Slavic to me (I am biased here). Think of Vladimir (literally, the one who possesses the world) where “vlad” means “possess” and “mir” means “world” (or peace). Or think of Serbian Borimir which means “the one who fights for peace” (or the world).
