The unquenchable fire of hell is quenched by the Imperishable Fire of The Music.
There are two fires in J.R.R. Tolkien’s world. One is the Flame Imperishable placed by Iluvatar at the heart of Eä (the world that is). The other is Fire Unquenchable — the fire that burns hot within someone who strays from The Music.
