By naming the river “the healing waters,” Legolas unveiled the spirit of the river, its power, and mystery — its true Name.

In The Lord of the Rings, there’s a beautiful story about Nimrodel, an elf-maid, who lived by a small river in the eastern foothills of the Misty Mountains. Later, the river would bear her name.
