I suspect that John wrote that scene in chapter 1 in imitation of the account in Exodus 33. Moses set up a 'tent of meeting' outside the camp in the wilderness. Any who 'sought the Lord' would leave the camp and enter the tent to meet with God face to face. Interesting that the 2 men answered Jesus' question about 'What do you seek?' by asking 'Where do you abide?'
This is beautiful my friend thank you! I was just talking to a friend I met here at our Orthodox Diocesan Assembly tonight about how you know you have here and there once in a while this awesome overwhelming incredible experience/ manifestation/ revelation
of God where you just know it is God and it just totally blows your mind you can’t think about anything else but them sooner than you know there’s a noise or whatever and you got to go to work or go to the grocery store or cut grass or whatever but I think that it is possible like the Saints surely have longer and more frequent times with God and the best thing is when all is all and we spend eternity it is going to be like forever amazement and love !!!
Thank you, Eugene! I read your posts first thing in the morning too and they always give me something valuable and welcome to reflect upon during my day as a teacher.

Yes, interesting. I love visiting with people in their homes. There's something about their homes that immerses you in their soul.

Thanks, Holly. I like what you said: "You just know it's God!"
Funny thing -- I was JUST NOW reading John 1, and then I opened my email and happened to start reading your post.
After a bit of reflection, I wonder if what I really want is to spread God's light to the world. Spreading love, happiness, joy, truth, etc.
In a concrete sense, this could mean worshipping God through music and writing.
What a coincidence or rather, Providence!
Congratulations!
